AN ACT concerning

Exclusive Original Civil Jurisdiction - Animal Control

FOR the purpose of granting the District Court exclusive original
civil jurisdiction in a petition of injunction filed by a
county or municipal corporation, including Baltimore City,
for the enforcement of its animal control codes; and
generally relating to the District Court's exclusive
original civil jurisdiction in matters concerning a petition
of injunction filed by a county or municipal corporation for
the enforcement of its animal control codes.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read' as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

4-401.

Except as provided in § 4-402 of this subtitle, and subject
to the venue provisions of Title 6 of this article, the District
Court has exclusive original civil jurisdiction in:

(7) A petition of injunction filed by a county or
municipality including Baltimore City for the enforcement of its
health, housing, fire, building, electric, plumbing, ANIMAL
CONTROL, and zoning codes;

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.
