OFFICER FOR A COUNTY OR OTHER COUNTY OFFICIAL AUTHORIZED TO
ADMINISTER AND ENFORCE ENVIRONMENTAL LAWS.

SECTION 3. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of
all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, it shall take effect from the date of its passage.

(Senate Bill 780)

AN ACT concerning

Oysters - Catch and Purchase Limits

FOR the purpose of clarifying the daily catch limit for persons
using diving apparatus to catch oysters; reestablishing an
annual limitation on the number of bushels of oysters an

unlicensed person can purchase from oyster harvesters

certain persons; and making this Act an emergency measure.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Natural Resources

4-1015.1.                                                                                               

(b) Notwithstanding any other provision of this subtitle or
regulation promulgated pursuant to this subtitle, there is an
oyster bushel limit of 30 bushels per boat PER DAY for any person
who catches oysters from the waters of this State using any sort
of diving apparatus PERSONS ABOARD A BOAT CATCHING OYSTERS FROM
THE WATERS OF THE STATE USING ANY SORT OF DIVING APPARATUS MAY
CATCH BETWEEN THEM NOT MORE THAN A TOTAL OF 30 BUSHELS IN ANY DAY
