Ch. 128                                    LAWS OF MARYLAND

promulgating unit may not adopt the regulation until it notifies
the Committee, in writing, of its' intention to adopt the
regulation and provides the Committee with a further period of
review of the regulation that terminates riot earlier than the
later of the following:

1.  the 30th day following the notice
provided under this subparagraph; or

2.  the [75th] 30TH day following the
[initial publication of] COMPLETION OF THE PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
INITIALLY ESTABLISHED FOR the regulation in the Register.

(3) THE PROMULGATING UNIT SHALL PERMIT PUBLIC COMMENT
FOR AT LEAST 30 DAYS OF THE 45-DAY PERIOD UNDER PARAGRAPH (1)(II)
OF THIS SUBSECTION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.

(Senate Bill 43)

AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws - Abandoned Vehicles - Definition

FOR the purpose of altering the definition of the term "abandoned
vehicle" to include a vehicle that is left unattended on any
portion of a controlled access highway for longer than a
certain period of time, thereby authorizing a police
department to take the vehicle into custody;

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 25-201(a) and (b)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1984 Replacement Volume and 1986 Supplement)

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,
