(Senate Bill 230)
AN ACT concerning
Maryland Stadium Authority - Powers and Duties
FOR the purpose of making the Maryland Stadium Authority an
independent unit in the Executive Branch; altering certain
powers and duties of the Authority; empowering the Authority
to condemn property only in the area of Camden Yards;
deleting the requirement requiring that the Authority comply
with local planning, zoning, and development regulations;
requiring the Authority to follow a certain procedure for
acquiring property; requiring the Authority to cooperate
with certain other entities in appointing a task force
composed of certain representatives to review certain plans;
requiring the Authority to participate in certain design
review processes; providing that the Authority's bonds are
payable from any source authorized by law; providing that
the Maryland Stadium Authority financing include receipts
from any source authorized by law; requiring the Authority
to submit a certain annual budget containing certain
information to a certain department for a certain purpose;
exempting the Authority from the Procurement Law; requiring
the Authority, in cooperation with certain other entities,
to establish a task force to study alternative uses for the
Memorial Stadium site; requiring the Authority to submit a
certain annual report containing recommendations, if any,
for the reclamation of the Memorial Stadium site; making
this Act contingent on the taking effect of a certain other
Act; and generally relating to the power, duties, and
functions of the Maryland Stadium Authority.
