It is the intent of the General

Assembly that construction of

sound barriers along major State
highways shall be a priority of
the Highway Administration. A
plan for accelerated construction

of sound barriers shall be

submitted to the Budget

Committees not later than October
1, 1987.

It is the intent of the General
Assembly that construction of
sound barriers along interstate
highways in high population
density areas shall be accorded
due importance in the State

highway program. A plan

indicating the schedule for sound
barrier construction shall be

submitted to the Budget

Committees not later than October
1, 1987.
