Funds appropriated in various
programs of this department, made
for the purpose of a State drug
testing program, may not be
expended until the Department of

Personnel consults Legislative

Policy Committee reviews and
approves the plan for the drug
testing program. The Department
of Personnel is required to
consult with the Departments of
Public Safety and Correctional
Services and Health and Mental
Hygiene on experience in the drug
testing area and available

resources through State

laboratory facilities. The

Departments of Personnel is

required to identify

classifications other than

correctional officers which would
be subject to State drug testing
and develop specific policies and
guidelines defining management
actions and employee rights. The
department shall submit a plan
for the drug testing program for
the review and approval of the

Budget Committees to the

Legislative Policy Committee not
later than July 1, 1987.
