retired judges in the Pre-Trial

Settlement Program may be

expended for that purpose only
and may not be transferred to
any other purpose by budget

22.01.00.04 District Court

General Fund Appropriation,
provided that funds appropriated
in subobjects B04 and C01 for
service of process may be
expended for that purpose only
and may not be transferred to any
other purpose by budget amendment
or otherwise. It is the intent of

the Budget Committees that

subsidization of sheriff's fees
from other court funds cease and

that service of process by

sheriffs be completely supported
by fees paid into the district

court, nor may funds be

transferred in for this purpose.
No funds shall be expended unless
the Chief Judge administratively
sets a service fee sufficient to
support the costs of service of
process.

Further provided that this

appropriation shall be increased
by $166,111 $114,553 contingent
upon the enactment of H.B. 285
or S.B. 254 authorizing an

additional judgeship for

Montgomery County.
