AN ACT concerning

Montgomery County - Board of Supervisors of Elections -

Compensation
MC 723-87

FOR the purpose of altering the annual salary paid to the Board
of Supervisors of Elections of Montgomery County; and
prohibiting the salary increase from affecting the
incumbents.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 33 - Election Code
Section 2-3(a)(16)
Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 33 - Election Code

2-3.

(a) Each member of the boards of the several political
subdivisions of the State shall receive an annual salary of not
less than the following amounts:

(16) Montgomery County: [$3,000] $4,500, plus an
additional sum of $500 for the president of the board.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, § 35, of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may
not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or compensation
of the president and members of the Montgomery County Board of
Supervisors of Elections in office on the effective date of this
Act, but the provisions of this Act concerning the salary or
compensation of the president and members of the Montgomery
County Board of Supervisors of Elections shall take effect at the
beginning of the next following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1987.
