AN ACT concerning

Carroll County - Volunteer Firemen

FOR the purpose of eliminating certain eligibility requirements
for length of service award payments to Carroll County
volunteer firemen; eliminating a limitation on the amount of
the payments; and clarifying language.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

The Public Local Laws of Carroll County
Section 3-8(B)

Article 7 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1976 Edition and 1986 Supplement, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE. IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 7 - Carroll County

(B) The County Commissioners may provide service award
payments from such appropriations as provided for in Section
3-8(A) to eligible volunteer firemen as certified by the Carroll
County Volunteer Firemen's Association. [Such] THE payments may
be made to those individuals who have met the adopted plan
requirements as approved by the County Commissioners [and have
reached the age of 62 on the prescribed date. Such payments
shall not exceed $100.00 per month and shall be for life]. The
service award payments may be made monthly by the County directly
to eligible recipients.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.
