AN ACT concerning

Charles County - Planning Commission

FOR the purpose of altering the membership of the Charles County
planning commission; specifying an expiration date for the
planning commission seat held by the members of the Charles
County Commissioners; providing for the terms of the new
members; and generally relating to the Charles County
planning commission.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 66B - Zoning and Planning
Section 3.02(b)(3)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 66B - Zoning and Planning

3.02.

(b) The following counties are excepted from the provisions
of subsection (a) to the extent provided in this subsection:

         (3) (i) The Charles County planning commission is
comprised of [six] 7 members and shall represent as many
different geographical areas of Charles County as is possible.

(ii) Members may receive such compensation as
deemed appropriate by the Charles County Commissioners.

(iii) The members serve for four-year terms or
until their successors are appointed and qualified. [However, the
member who is a member of the Charles County Commissioners shall
serve consistent with his official term as Commissioner.] The
respective terms of the [other] members shall be on a staggered
basis.

(iv) The chairperson shall be appointed
annually by the Charles County Commissioners.

(v) A member of the Charles County
Commissioners may sit on the Charles County planning commission
in an ex officio capacity THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1988. The member
