2. The designation of the Maryland Disabilities Law Center,
Inc., as the official agency for purposes of Public Law
94-103 shall continue unless amended, altered, or
withdrawn by subsequent Executive Order.

GOVERNOR'S COUNCIL ON CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT
EXECUTIVE ORDER 01.01.1986.07
WHEREAS, In 1983 the Governor's Task Force on Child Abuse and
Neglect was appointed at the request of the General
Assembly;
WHEREAS, The Task Force has found that child abuse, especially
sexual abuse is far more widespread than originally
estimated;
WHEREAS, The problems of child abuse and neglect require long
term efforts for the implementation and monitoring of
programs for the prevention, detection, and treatment of
victims and offenders;
WHEREAS, On April 29,1986, the Governor's Council on Child Abuse
and Neglect was created by Executive Order 01.01.1986.07;
WHEREAS, There is a need to expand the membership of the
Governor's Council on Child Abuse and Neglect to provide for
additional expertise and participation by concerned
professionals and the general public;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, HARRY HUGHES, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, BY VIRTUE OF THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME BY THE
CONSTITUTION AND LAWS OF MARYLAND, HEREBY AMEND EXECUTIVE
ORDER 01.01.1986.07 IN THE MANNER SET FORTH IN THIS
EXECUTIVE ORDER, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:
1. The Governor's Council on Child Abuse and Neglect is
hereby created to provide advice to the Governor on
matters relating to the implementation and effectiveness
