WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor
June 2, 1987
The Honorable R. Clayton Mitchell, Jr.
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404
Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 1547.
This bill provides that the Department of Natural Resources
may not purchase an easement in Garrett County without the
approval of the County Commissioners.
Senate Bill 1036, which was passed by the General Assembly
and signed by me on April 14, 1987, accomplishes the same
purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 1547.
Sincerely,
William Donald Schaefer
Governor
