Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 934.                         

This bill authorizes an attorney for a child on behalf of
the child to file a petition for a child placement agency to be
granted guardianship of the child.

Senate Bill 647, which was passed by the General Assembly
and signed by me on May 14, 1987, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 934.

Petition for Decree of Guardianship - Filing - Attorney for Child

FOR the purpose of authorizing an attorney for a child on behalf
of the child to file a petition for a child placement agency
to be granted guardianship of the child; and providing for
the application and construction of this Act.
