Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 295.

This bill amends the provisions of the Dorchester County
Jail Loan of 1985 to provide an extension of time for the Board
of County Commissioners of Dorchester County to present evidence
satisfactory to the Board of Public Works that a certain matching
fund will be provided.

Senate Bill 111, which was passed by the General Assembly
and signed by me on April 29, 1987, accomplishes the same
purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 295.
