(II) PRACTICING UNDER ANY CONTRACT AS A
PREFERRED PROVIDER, DEFINED IN ARTICLE 48A, § 477FF OF THE
CODE; OR--------------------------------

(III) ENGAGED IN ANY FORM OF GROUP PRACTICE
PROVIDING HEALTH CARE SERVICES IN BOTH MARYLAND AND ANY STATE
ADJOINING MARYLAND; AND------

(3) WHO IS legally practicing medicine without a
license under § 14-302(1), (2), (3), or (5) of the Health
Occupations Article.

(d) "Licensed physician" means any person licensed to
practice medicine in[ the State of Maryland] ANY STATE THE STATES
OF MARYLAND, VIRGINIA, WEST VIRGINIA, OR DELAWARE. :

(1) IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND; AND

(2) IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND, WHO IS:

(I) PRACTICING UNDER CONTRACT WITH A HEALTH
MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATION, AS DEFINED IN § 19-701(E) OF THE HEALTH
- GENERAL ARTICLE;-----------------------------------------------

(II) PRACTICING UNDER ANY CONTRACT AS A
PREFERRED PROVIDER, AS DEFINED IN ARTICLE 48A, § 477FF OF THE
CODE; OR--------------------------------------^:---------------------

(III) ENGAGED IN ANY FORM OF GROUP PRACTICE
PROVIDING HEALTH CARE SERVICES IN BOTH MARYLAND AND ANY STATE
ADJOIN1NG MARYLAND.----------------------------------------------

(e) "Health care provider" means a person licensed or
authorized to practice a health occupation.

(f) "Health care facility" has the same meaning as defined
in § 19-101(e) of the Health - General Article OR IN THE STATUTE
OF ANY OTHER STATE THE STATES OF VIRGINIA, WEST VIRGINIA, OR
DELAWARE ANY STATE ADJOIN1NG MARYLAND.

(a) A nonstock corporation is created, known as the
"Medical Mutual Liability Insurance Society of Maryland,"
hereinafter referred to as "the Society." Except as otherwise
provided in this subtitle, the Corporation has all the power,
privileges, and immunities granted by and is subject to all the
provisions imposed upon mutual insurers under the provisions of
the Insurance Code (Article 48A) of the Code and the applicable
provisions of the Corporations and Associations Article.
