Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 690.

This bill alters the circumstances under which the State

Board of Examiners of Nurses  may remove an institution from its

list of institutions that offer approved nursing education
programs in the State.

House Bill 863, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 14, 1987, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 690.

AN ACT concerning

State Board of Examiners of Nurses - Nursing Education Programs

FOR the purpose of altering the circumstances under which the
State Board of Examiners of Nurses may remove an institution
from its list of institutions that offer approved nursing
education programs in the State; and generally relating to
removal of institutions from the State Board of Examiners of
Nurses' list.
