AN ACT concerning
Talbot County - Office of the State's Attorney
FOR the purpose of providing that the State's Attorney for Talbot
County may serve part-time and engage in certain private
practice of law; making stylistic changes; defining a
certain term; requiring the approval of the Talbot County
Council to pay for the payment of certain expenses of the
office of the State's Attorney for Talbot County under
certain circumstances; authorizing the State's Attorney for
Talbot County to appoint, with the approval of the Talbot
County Council, certain criminal investigators; specifying
authorities, duties, limitations, and requirements of
certain criminal investigators authorized under this Act;
authorizing the State's Attorney for Talbot County to
designate certain criminal investigators as peace officers
under certain circumstances; providing that a criminal
investigator under this Act is not subject to the Law
Enforcement Officers' Bill of Rights; authorizing the
State's Attorney for Talbot County to appoint certain
special assistant State's Attorneys; requiring that a
special assistant State's Attorney under this Act shall be
compensated in a certain manner and may not receive certain
other compensation; providing that the office of special
assistant State's Attorney for Talbot County may not be
construed as an office for profit; providing that a person
may not be deemed to have vacated a certain office or
employment, and may not be precluded from accepting a
certain case, by virtue of certain service as a special
assistant State's Attorney for Talbot County; and generally
relating to the office of the State's Attorney for Talbot
County.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 10 - Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact
Section 40(u)
