SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.

AN ACT concerning
Republican Presidential Primary
FOR the purpose of altering the deadline by which the Republican
State Central Committee shall certify the number of
delegates to be elected from each congressional district and
the number to be elected at large; clarifying altering
provisions relating to the selection of alternative
delegates to the Republican national convention and to;
clarifying the filling of vacancies in the office of
delegate or delegate elect for that convention; and altering
the manner in which the Board of State Canvassers shall
report the primary election results, of each political
party, for candidates for president and for delegate to the
national conventions.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 33 - Election Code
12-4.
(a) The procedure established in this section shall govern
the selection of delegates to the Republican national convention.
(b) The Republican State central committee shall certify to
the State Administrative Board of Election Laws the number of
delegates to be elected from each congressional district and the
number of delegates to be elected at large, respectively, as
provided in the rules of the Republican national convention, not
later than the first day of [March] JANUARY in each year in which
