Ch. 11

(6) Subject to the provisions of this section, every
person regularly selling or distributing newspapers on the street
or to customers at their homes or places of business. For the
purposes of this [act] ARTICLE, such person shall be deemed an
employee of any independent news agency for whom he shall sell
newspapers, or of each publisher who engages such persons to sell
or distribute its newspapers.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects an outdated reference and
stylistic errors in cross-references and internal
references in Article 101, § 21(a) and (b).

The stylistic errors in the cross-references occurred
in Ch. 119 of the Acts of 1971. The stylistic errors
in the internal references occurred in Ch. 5 of the
Acts of 1986.

The Maryland Civil Defense and Disaster Preparedness
Act, the 1975 successor to the Maryland Civil Defense
Act, the Maryland Emergency Management and Civil
Defense Act in Ch. 505 of the Acts of 1981.

The stylistic errors in the cross-references and the
outdated reference were noted by the Administrative
Office of the Courts of Maryland. The stylistic
errors in the internal references were noted by the
Michie Company.

Article - Agriculture

4-226.

(a) Any person who violates the provisions of [§ 4-206,
4-213, 4-214, 4-215, 4-216, or 4-218] § 4-206, § 4-213, §4-214, §
4-215, § 4-216, OR § 4-218 OF THIS SUBTITLE is guilty of a
misdemeanor. Notwithstanding any other penalty provided by this
article, the person, upon conviction, is subject to a fine not
exceeding $1,000, or imprisonment not exceeding one year, or
both. If a violation involves intent to defraud or any
distribution or attempted distribution of an adulterated article,
the person is subject to a fine not exceeding $10,000, or
imprisonment not exceeding three years, or both. The court may
impose costs in its discretion.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects stylistic errors in
cross-references in § 4-226(a) of the Agriculture
Article.

The stylistic errors occurred in Ch. 6 of the Acts of
1973 and Ch. 5 of the Acts of 1986.
