SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 56 - Licenses
448.
It shall not be lawful for any person, firm or corporation
to advertise himself or itself as a "master plumber" or
"registered plumber" unless such person, or someone associated
with such firm or corporation is a master plumber and has been
issued a certificate of competency as provided in §§ 449, 455,
and 456 of this article and in the case of plumbing
advertisements in firm or corporate names, all such
advertisements shall contain the name of a person associated
therewith who is a master plumber. Any person, firm or
corporation and the members, officers, or agents of such firm or
corporation violating the provisions of this section shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction, shall be fined not
less than five dollars, nor more than fifty dollars, for every
day or every part of every day that said violation continues.
[The provisions of this section shall be applicable only within
Baltimore City.] Provided, that this section shall not extend to
any persons licensed under the provisions of Title 21 of the
Health Occupations Article.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.
