WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 539

Chapter 151 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1984
Section 2

Preamble

WHEREAS, Chapter 151 of the Acts of the General Assembly of
1984 increased the maximum allowable transfer tax in Prince
George's County from 1% to 1.5%; and

WHEREAS, The increase in the maximum allowable transfer tax
was to become void on July 1, 1987 under the terms of Chapter
151; and

WHEREAS, The intent of the General Assembly is that the July
1, 1987 termination date be repealed extended; now, therefore,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Chapter 151 of the Acts of 1984

[SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the
provisions of this Act shall have no force and effect on or after
July 1, 1987 1989.]

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.

AN ACT concerning

Creation of a State Debt - Baltimore City Jail -
Women's Detention Center

FOR the purpose of authorizing the creation of a State Debt in
the amount of $1,825,000, the proceeds to be used for a
grant to the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore for the
purpose of constructing, expanding, improving, and equipping
the Women's Detention Center of the Baltimore City Jail,
subject to the condition that a matching fund of a certain
type and amount be provided by a certain date; and providing
