Preamble
WHEREAS, The General Assembly finds that it is in the
interest of the public welfare that winegrowers be authorized and
encouraged to act jointly and in cooperation with others to
increase the productivity of all phases of grape and wine
production in Maryland and to provide for continuing orderly
growth by sponsoring and encouraging research, education,
promotion, and marketing of Maryland wine winery products, wine
grapes, and other fruit used in the production of wine; and
WHEREAS, The purposes of this Act are:
(1) To identify and implement methods for improving
Maryland's rank as a wine-producing state;
