(House Bill 18)
AN ACT concerning
Annual Curative Bill
FOR the purpose of generally curing previous Acts of the General
Assembly enacted with possible title defects; reducing the
length of sentence which qualifies certain persons to be
placed by the Commissioner of Corrections in Community Adult
Rehabilitation Centers in the State; increasing the number
of members on the Maryland Housing Policy Commission;
repealing a provision relating to the application to
storage fees of the proceeds of a public sale of an
aircraft, boat, or motor vehicle for payment of a lien;
repealing initial general reserve fund and general reserve
fund requirements for organizing as a savings and loan
association; requiring each nonresident director of a
savings and loan association to be approved by the Director
of the Division of Savings and Loan Associations; correcting
an obsolete reference to the Maryland Savings-Share
Insurance Corporation; limiting certain provisions of law
relating to the distribution to contributors to the initial
general reserve fund of assets on liquidation of a savings
and loan association; altering a reference to regulations
limiting service charges imposed by savings and loan
associations for withdrawals from savings accounts;
providing that a recipient of certain services provided in a
facility or program operated or funded wholly or partly by
the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, or a chargeable
person responsible for the recipient's care, are not
responsible for the cost of care where the recipient is
involuntarily admitted to a public facility and released
after evaluation for a failure to meet the standards for
involuntary commitment; repealing obsolete descriptions of
the election districts in Dorchester County; providing for
the effect, construction, and effective date of the
provisions of this Act; making this Act an emergency
measure; and generally repealing and reenacting, with and
without amendments, certain Acts of the General Assembly
that may be subject to possible title or function paragraph
defects in order to validate those Acts.
