SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 56 - Licenses
534.
(c) Examinations for licenses shall be held at times and
places within the State to be determined by the Board.
Examinations shall be held at least twice annually. Applications
shall be filed at least 45 days prior to the examination date.
Each applicant shall take and pass fan objective] A written
examination to determine fitness for a license. The passing
grade shall be 70 percent and the notice for the examination
shall specify the passing grade. The examination promulgated by
the Board shall require knowledge of all applicable codes or
other rules, laws, or principles of electrical installations,
from a list of questions submitted by the Uniform Electrical
Licensing Examination Committee. Any local electrical licensing
board which has qualifications equivalent to those of the State
and which administers master electricians' examinations that are
also equivalent to those of the State shall be certified. Any
eligible applicant who has successfully completed a certified
examination for a master electrical license in a local
jurisdiction shall be exempt from the State examination, and any
eligible applicant who has successfully passed a State
examination for a master electrical license shall be exempt from.
