Ch. 306                                    LAWS OF MARYLAND

training in physical, biological, and sanitary sciences,   and

through on-the-job training, the routine inspections and

investigational services essential for the promotion     and
maintenance of environmental health; and

(ii) Who performs, on a routine basis,
inspections and investigations to aid in securing compliance with
the health laws and regulations specifically pertaining to
control of the public health aspects of the environment in any of
the following areas:

1. The manufacture, preparation,
handling, distribution, or sale of food and milk;

2.  Water supply and treatment;

3.  Wastewater treatment and disposal;

4.  Solid waste management and disposal;

5.  Vector control;

6.  Insect and rodent control;

7.  Air quality;
.8.     Noise control;

9.  Product safety;

10.  Recreational sanitation; and

11.  Institutional and residential

sanitation.

planners;

(2) "Environmental sanitarian" does not include:
(i) Industrial hygienists;
(ii) Health planners or natural resource

(iii) Building and housing inspectors;

(iv) Geologists;

(v) Chemists;

(vi) Meteorologists;

(vii) Laboratory scientists;
