Ch. 306

LAWS OF MARYLAND

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL SHALL TAKE CHARGE OF, PROSECUTE, AND
DEFEND ON BEHALF OF THE STATE EVERY CASE ARISING UNDER THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS TITLE AND REGULATIONS ADOPTED THEREUNDER.

[Article - Health - General]

[17-202.2] 6-303.

(a)  In this section, "Class I" means the low risk category
or any successor category for blood lead poisoning that is
defined by the Centers for Disease Control.

(b)  A medical laboratory shall report the results of any
blood lead or erythrocyte protoporphyrin test that indicates a
risk of lead poisoning that is greater than Class I performed on
any child 18 years and under to the local health department of
the jurisdiction where the child resides.

(c)  A local health department shall report any information
it receives under subsection (b) of this section to the
Department.

OCCUPATIONAL DISEASES

[18-106] 6-701.

(a) The Secretary shall;

(1) Accept from physicians reports on occupational
diseases;.....................

(2) Study occupational diseases and means to prevent
and control the diseases; and

(3) Submit to the General Assembly recommendations to
prevent and control these diseases.

(b) (1) After notice and a public hearing before the
Secretary, the Secretary may adopt rules and regulations
necessary to prevent and control occupational diseases.

(2) The Secretary shall enforce the rules and
regulations adopted under this section.

(c) The Secretary shall:

(1) Investigate each industrial condition that is
suspected of causing an occupational disease; and
