Ch. 297                                  LAWS OF MARYLAND

and equipment in a food establishment must be kept in a
clean and sanitary condition and providing certain criteria
for what constitutes an unclean or unsanitary condition;
requiring that certain food establishments contain certain
facilities; requiring that each food service facility post a
certain lifesaving chart; prohibiting a person from sleeping
in certain portions of a food establishment; providing that
certain individuals may not knowingly be employed or
knowingly work in a food establishment; providing for the
registration of certain soft drinks; providing for the
issuance, renewal, revocation, and denial of a soft drink
registration; providing for the proper cleaning of soft
drink containers; prohibiting the sale of soft drink
containers with certain detachable metal tab openings;
providing for the licensing and regulation of the supply,
collecting, bottling and delivering of bottled drinking
water; requiring that containers of crab meat be marked in a
certain manner and contain certain information; requiring
that all crab meat sold in this State meet certain
standards; prohibiting the handling and sale of certain crab
meat and shellfish; allowing the Department of Health and
Mental Hygiene to detain, seize, and condemn certain crab
meat, shellfish, and food containing shellfish; prohibiting
a person from importing certain shellfish or food containing
shellfish into the State; requiring that shellfish be
transported in a certain manner; providing criminal and
civil penalties for violations of this Act; providing
injunctive powers; and generally relating to the licensing,
regulation, and. enforcement of certain foods and food
establishments.
