SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 4-809 (b), (c), (d), and (e),
respectively, of Article - Natural Resources of the Annotated
Code of Maryland be renumbered to be Section 4-809 (d), (e), (f),
and (g), respectively.                                                             

   SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:

Article - Natural Resources

4-801.

(a) In this subtitle, the following words have the meanings
indicated.

(e) "Peeler" means a crab which has a soft shell that is
developing under the hard shell, on which there is a white, pink,
or red line or rim on the edge of that part of the back fin next
to the outer section of this fin.

4-809.

(a) A person may not catch or possess more than 10 hard
crabs per bushel or 25 hard crabs per barrel which measure less
than 5 inches across the shell from tip to tip of spike[, any
peelers measuring less than 3 inches across the shell from tip to
tip of spike,] or any soft crabs measuring less than three and
one-half inches across the shell from tip to tip of spike].

(B) (1) EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN PARAGRAPH (2) OF THIS
SUBSECTION, A PERSON MAY NOT CATCH OR POSSESS PEELER CRABS
MEASURING. LESS THAN 3 INCHES ACROSS THE SHELL FROM TIP TO TIP OF
SPIKE.
