LAWS OF MARYLAND

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, pursuant to
Article III, § 35, of the Constitution of Maryland, this Act may
not be construed to extend or apply to the salary or compensation
of the State's Attorney of Harford County in office on the
effective date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act
concerning the salary or compensation of the State's Attorney of
Harford County shall take effect at the beginning of the next
following term of office.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.

(House Bill 1046)

AN ACT concerning                     

Workmen's Compensation - Prisoners

FOR the purpose of defining certain terms for the payment of

Workmen's Compensation to certain persons incarcerated in

certain penal institutions; and generally relating to the

coverage providing that in Anne Arundel, Charles,

Montgomery, , Allegany, Wicomico, and Washington counties

certain payments, to prisoners are not wages or a stipulated

sum under the Workmen's Compensation Law.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 101 - Workmen's Compensation

Section 35(a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1985 Replacement Volume and 1986 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 101 - Workmen's Compensation

35.                                           :                                                                                                 

(a) (1) Whenever any prisoner working for the county roads
board or the board of county commissioners or county council in
the bounties" to' which this section applies shall be engaged in
any employment within the meaning of this article for which wages
