AN ACT concerning

Elections - Republican State Central Committee -
Removal of Members

FOR the purpose of permitting the Republican State Central
Committee to adopt certain provisions for removing certain
committee members under certain conditions; and generally
relating to the Republican State Central Committee.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 33 - Election Code

Section ll-2(e)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 33 - Election Code

11-2.

(e) (1) The tenure in office of any member of the central
committee of any party shall begin at the time the canvass of the
votes in this district is completed and the tenure continues to
the extent of any extension in time between primary elections by
reason of any change in the date of holding primary elections by
political parties in this State. However, upon relinquishing his
residency in the county or Baltimore City, as the case may be, a
member of a party central committee shall be considered to have
resigned.

(2) THE REPUBLICAN STATE CENTRAL COMMITTEE MAY ADOPT
PROVISIONS IN ITS CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS PROVIDING FOR THE
REMOVAL OF MEMBERS OF THE REPUBLICAN STATE CENTRAL COMMITTEE WHO
FAIL TO DISCHARGE THE MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES OF A STATE CENTRAL
COMMITTEE MEMBER.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986.
