cancellation or violation and it shall be the duty of the
Administration to immediately revoke the registration plate of
such vehicle and cause same to be surrendered. The Comptroller
for reasons satisfactory to him upon satisfaction by the licensee
for which said license or exemption certificate was cancelled by
the Comptroller shall have the right to reinstate such license or
exemption certificate and upon such reinstatement the Comptroller
shall advise the Motor Vehicle Administration of his action and
the Administration shall thereupon restore the revoked
registration plates to the licensee.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This clarifies a cross-reference in Article
56, § 147.

The cross-reference was added in Ch. 687 of the Acts
of the General Assembly of 1949.

The clarification was suggested by the Computer
Division of the Department of Legislative Reference..

213.

(c) The present members of the Commission shall continue to
serve for the terms for which they were respectively appointed.
From time to time upon the occurring of vacancies upon the
Commission, as now constituted, whether such vacancies shall
happen by reason of the expiration of the terms for which the
members of said Commission were appointed, respectively, or by
reason of any other cause, the Governor, with the advice of the
Secretary of Licensing and Regulation and with the advice and
consent of the Senate of Maryland, shall appoint a person to fill
each vacancy thus occurring, so that said Commission shall
continue to consist of [seven] EIGHT persons as aforesaid. Each
person so appointed shall be appointed for a term of four years,
beginning as of June 1 in the year in which appointed, or in case
of a vacancy occurring during the term for which any member of
said Commission may have been appointed, then for the unexpired
portion of said term. Every appointment shall be for the period
indicated, or until a successor is appointed and qualifies.

DRAFTER'S NOTE: This corrects an error in Article 56, §
213(c).

Ch. 851 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1974
increased the membership of the Commission from 7 to 8
members, as reflected in Article 56, § 213(a).

The error was noted by the Real Estate Commission.

(a) (1) It shall be unlawful for any real estate broker, or
real estate salesperson, to pay any compensation, in money or
other valuable thing, to any person other than a licensed real
estate broker, those exempted under the provisions of § 219(e) OF
