providing a grant to the
Baltimore Symphony Orchestra
shall be contingent on
certification in a manner
satisfactory to the Board of
Public Works that $1,500,000,
committed after October 1, 1985,
has been actually paid into the
endowment fund of the symphony.
This grant represents the first
of six annual grants to the
symphony. It is the intent of the
General Assembly that grants for
the following fiscal years shall
be contingent on new funds being
paid into the endowment in the
amounts indicated.
F.Y. 1988 $3,500,000
F.Y 1989 $5,000,000
F.Y. 1990 $6,000,000
F.Y. 1991 $6,000,000
F.Y. 1992 $4,000,000
And be it further provided that
grants to the symphony in
addition to the $2,000,000 herein
restricted appropriated may not
be in an amount greater than that
provided for fiscal year 1986. It
is the intent of the General
Assembly that the Symphony shall
receive no funds from the
$800,000 additional provided in
this budget for arts institutions
and organizations................
