In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 1334.

This bill authorizes the Anne Arundel County Council to
enact ordinances to fix, impose, and collect development impact
fees for financing the capital costs of additional or expanded
public works, improvements, and facilities required to
accommodate new construction or development.

Senate Bill 607, which was passed by the General Assembly
and signed by me on May 13, 1986, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 1334.

AN ACT concerning

Anne Arundel County - Code of Public Local Laws

FOR the purpose of authorizing Anne Arundel County, by ordinance
enacted from time to time by the County Council, to fix,
impose, and collect development impact fees for financing,
in whole or in part, the capital costs of additional
facilities or the expansion of existing facilities for
education, parks, recreation, streets, roads, bridges, and
storm drainage. or expanded public works, improvements, and
facilities required to accommodate new construction or
development; and requiring the Anne Arundel County
Administration to submit to the Anne Arundel County
Delegation of the General Assembly a certain written report
on or before commencement of certain legislative sessions.
