The Honorable Benjamin L. Cardin
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404
Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 856.
This bill prohibits the unauthorized duplication or
misappropriation for commercial purposes of a vessel's hull, or
hull components, by the direct molding process.
Senate Bill 539, which was passed by the General Assembly
and signed by me on April 29, 1986, accomplishes the same
purpose. Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House
Bill 856.
Sincerely,
Harry Hughes
Governor
