VETOES
This bill alters a number of provisions relating to special
vehicle registration plates for disabled persons and disabled
persons' parking permits.
Senate Bill 1, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 27, 1986, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 786.

AN ACT concerning
Vehicle Laws - Disabled Persons' Registration and
Parking Permits
FOR the purpose of providing certain penalties for certain
violations in the application for or use of a disabled
person's registration or parking permit; providing certain
procedures relating to the renewal, termination, and
cancellation of a disabled person's registration under
certain circumstances; establishing certain procedures for a
review of a disabled person's registration; requiring an
applicant for a disabled person's parking permit to have a
certain disability; requiring a person who uses certain
parking privileges for a disabled person to meet certain
requirements; making stylistic changes; and generally
relating to disabled persons' registrations and parking
permits.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(a) (1) The owner of any vehicle described in paragraph (2)
of this subsection may apply to the Administration for the
assignment to that vehicle of a special, disabled person's
registration number, if the applicant, a dependent of the
