Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 753.

This bill limits the authority of the Department of Natural
Resources to acquire land in Garrett County.

Senate Bill 362, which was passed by the General Assembly
and signed by me on May 27, 1986, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 753.

AN ACT concerning

Garrett County - Acquisition of Land
by Department of Natural Resources

FOR the purpose of prohibiting the Department of Natural
Resources after a certain date from using any funds to
acquire land in Garrett County in excess of certain amounts;
and authorizing the Department to exchange land in Garrett
County under certain conditions.
