Dear Mr. Speaker:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 557.

This bill increases the annual salary and expense allowance
of the judges of the Orphans' Court for Allegany County.

Senate Bill 227, which was passed by the General Assembly
and signed by me on April 8, 1986, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 557.

AN ACT concerning

Allegany County - Orphans' Court Judges - Compensation

FOR the purpose of altering the annual compensation of the judges
of the Orphans' Court for Allegany County; providing that
this Act does not affect the incumbents; and generally
providing for the compensation of the judges of the Orphans'
Court for Allegany County.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
