(g) Any employer who violates the provisions of this
subtitle is guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a fine not to
exceed $100.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986.

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the Maryland
Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 961.

This bill exempts persons providing refuse pickup and
disposal while actually engaged in the pickup and disposal of
garbage and refuse and does not provide those services for
controlled hazardous waste substances from hazardous chemical
safety regulations.

House Bill 746, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 13, 1986, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign Senate Bill 961.

AN ACT concerning

Labor and Industry - Hazardous Chemicals -
Garbage and Refuse Pickup and Disposal

FOR the purpose of exempting certain persons who engage in the
business of providing commercial or residential garbage and
refuse pickup and disposal services from certain provisions
of the occupational safety laws concerning hazardous
chemicals while actually engaging in the pickup and disposal
of garbage and refuse; providing for the inclusion of the
business establishment of certain garbage and refuse pickup
and disposal services in the occupational safety laws
