AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws — Safety and Inspections

FOR the purpose of requiring a person to whom a disabled person's
parking permit is issued to display a certain placard in
specific classes of vehicles; authorizing a police officer,

a hazardous materials inspector, or a Public Service

Commission inspector to conduct certain inspections;
defining certain terms; requiring a police officer, a
hazardous material inspector, or a Public Service Commission
inspector to be certified by the Maryland State Police under
certain circumstances; providing a certain exception to a
requirement that certain rules and regulations duplicate or
be consistent with specific Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Regulations; authorizing a police officer, a hazardous
materials inspector, or a Public Service Commission
inspector to enter the premises and examine equipment and
review and copy certain documents of motor carriers subject
to specific regulations for a certain purpose; repealing an
exemption from certain provisions of Federal Motor Carrier
Safety Regulations for certain vehicles operated in
intrastate commerce; prohibiting certain provisions in
certain regulations for intrastate motor carrier
transportation; providing for certain exceptions; and
generally relating to certain safety and safety
requirements.
