A LICENSEE MAY NOT KNOWINGLY ALTER, DEFACE, OR DESTROY OR
KNOWINGLY PERMIT THE ALTERATION, DEFACEMENT, OR DESTRUCTION OF AN
AGENCY LICENSE CERTIFICATE OR BRANCH OFFICE CERTIFICATE.

603.  FALSE STATEMENTS TO SUPERINTENDENT.

A PERSON MAY NOT WILLFULLY MAKE A FALSE STATEMENT ON ANY
APPLICATION FORM, ANNUAL STATEMENT, OR OTHER DOCUMENT SUBMITTED
TO THE SUPERINTENDENT UNDER THIS SUBTITLE.

604.  FALSE STATEMENTS BY EMPLOYEES TO LICENSEE.

AN INDIVIDUAL EMPLOYED AS A PRIVATE DETECTIVE OR AS A
SECURITY GUARD BY A LICENSEE MAY NOT WILLFULLY MAKE A FALSE
STATEMENT OR REPORT TO THE LICENSEE REGARDING ANY CASE CONDUCTED
OR SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE LICENSEE.

605.  PENALTIES.

A PERSON WHO VIOLATES ANY PROVISION OF THIS SUBTITLE IS
GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND ON CONVICTION IS SUBJECT TO A FINE OF
NOT MORE THAN $1,000 OR IMPRISONMENT FOR NOT MORE THAN 1 YEAR OR
BOTH.

PART VIII. SHORT TITLE.

606.  SHORT TITLE.

THIS SUBTITLE MAY BE CITED AS "THE MARYLAND PRIVATE
DETECTIVES ACT".

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

551.

(a) In this section, "organized police agency" means:

(1) A police department of the State, or of a county
or municipal corporation of the State; [or]

(2) A PRIVATE POLICE DEPARTMENT THAT IS PERMITTED TO
ENROLL ITS OFFICERS IN APPROVED MARYLAND POLICE TRAINING
COMMISSION SCHOOLS AND ACADEMIES; OR

[(2)] (3) A law enforcement agency of the United
States, any state, or any county or municipal corporation of any
state.

(b) An individual applicant or, if the applicant is a firm,
the representative member shall have at least:
