SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall

AN ACT concerning

Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax - Refunds

FOR the purpose of requiring the Comptroller to allow certain
refunds for a certain period for a motor vehicle fuel tax
paid by certain persons for use in specified types of motor
vehicles; specifying the amounts of the refunds required
under this Act; providing for the phasing in of the refund a
phased-in refund for a certain period; requiring a certain
study; requiring a certain report to the General Assembly by
a certain date; and generally relating to requirements of
certain refunds for a motor vehicle fuel tax paid by certain
persons.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 56 - Licenses

151C.

(A) THE COMPTROLLER SHALL ALLOW A REFUND EQUAL TO 35
PERCENT OF THE TAX PAID ON MOTOR VEHICLE FUEL TO A PERSON WHO
PURCHASES AS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION TO A
PURCHASER OF MOTOR VEHICLE FUEL FOR USE IN A TRUCK IF:

(1) THE TRUCK IS:

(I) A SOLID WASTE COMPACTING MOTOR VEHICLE; OR
