FACILITIES FOR FOOD, FUEL, REPAIRS, OR REST.
[(g)] (H) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection
[(d)] (E) of this section, nothing shall prevent the operation of
a combination of vehicles in which the semitrailer (single) does
not exceed 48 1/2 feet in length or a combination of vehicles in
which the semitrailer or trailer (double) does not exceed 28 1/2
feet in length for each unit; provided, the combination has been
lawfully operated on the highways of this State prior to December
1, 1982.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s)
27-101(i) through (1) respectively, of Article - Transportation
of the Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s)
27-101(h) through (k), respectively.
SECTION 3 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That vehicles
titled and registered under § 13-929 of the Transportation
Article on March 15, 1986 shall continue to be allowed to carry
65,000 pounds gross weight and are not subject to any other
weight restrictions under the Maryland Vehicle Law. The Motor
Vehicle Administration may issue a special registration or permit
to allow the operation of a vehicle under this exemption until
April 30, 1991.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section(s)
27-101(i) through (1), respectively, of Article Transportation
of the Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s)
27-101(h) through (k), respectively.
SECTION 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986.
