take effect July 1, 1986.

AN ACT concerning

Coal or Coal Products - Heating Systems in Buildings

or Facilities

FOR the purpose of requiring buildings and facilities constructed
after a certain date with a certain amount of State funding
to use coal or coal products in its heating system;
providing exceptions; defining a term; requiring the use of
coal or coal products mined in the State that the design of
certain heating systems not preclude the use of Maryland
prohibiting the design of a heating system that
precludes the use of Maryland coal in buildings and
facilities constructed after a certain date, with a certain
amount of State funding; and for which coal or coal products
will be used to fuel the heating system; and generally

relating to the use of coal or coal products to fuel the
heating system in buildings and facilities constructed with
certain amounts of State funding.

WHEREAS, New technologies involved in the burning of coal,
including fluidized beds, coal-water mixtures, and coal-oil
mixtures, have proven to be cost effective and environmentally
workable; and
