Article - Transportation

24-108.

(c) (1) A vehicle carrying agricultural or forest products,
OR LIVESTOCK that have been loaded in fields or other off-highway
locations is permitted an axle load limit tolerance of 10
percent.

(2) A single unit vehicle with 3 axles, either
registered as a farm truck or carrying agricultural products OR
LIVESTOCK, is permitted an axle load limit tolerance of 5 percent
from § 24-109(b) and (c), except during harvest time when a
tolerance of 15 percent from § 24-109(b) and (c) is permitted for
a vehicle carrying the following agricultural products:

(i) Wheat, for the period from June 1 to August
15;

(ii) Corn, for the period from July 1 to
December 1; and

(iii) Soybeans, for the period from September 1
to December 1.

24-109.

(a) (1) The provisions of subsections (b) and (c) of this
section providing for the formula to be applied to interior axle
measurements may not apply to those vehicles qualified in this
subsection. For those vehicles qualifying under this subsection
the measurement may be made only between the first and last axles
of the vehicle or combination of vehicles.

(2)  To qualify under this subsection the vehicle must
have been titled and registered in this State prior to December
31, 1983 OR CARRYING LIVESTOCK, and when operated singly or in
combination with another vehicle, cannot comply with the weight
limitations imposed by the interior axle measurements.

(3)  This exception shall also apply to a single unit
vehicle that has been titled and registered in this State prior
to December 31, 1983 OR CARRYING LIVESTOCK and which cannot
comply with the weight limitations imposed by the exterior axle
measurements.

(4)  Upon application to the Department by the owner
of a vehicle qualifying under paragraph (2) or (3) of this
subsection, the Department may issue a special registration or
permit to allow the operation of the vehicle under the exemption
provided in this subsection until April 30, 1991.

(5)  Before April 30, 1991, subsections (b) and (c) of
this section do not apply to any combination of vehicles carrying
manifested international freight in a container or in a 20-foot
