(a) Each employer shall post and maintain in places readily
accessible to individuals in his employ printed statements
concerning benefit rights, claims for benefits, THE RIGHT TO
CONTINUATION OF HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE, IN SOME CASES, UNDER
ARTICLE 48A, § 490G and such other matters relating to the
administration of this article as the Executive Director may by
regulation prescribe. Each employer shall supply to such
individuals copies of such printed statements or other materials
relating to claims for benefits when and as the Executive
Director may by regulation prescribe. Such printed statements
and other materials shall be supplied by the Executive Director
to each employer without cost to the employer.
(J) THE SECRETARY SHALL PROVIDE TO AN INDIVIDUAL MAKING A
CLAIM UNDER THIS SECTION A NOTICE, IN A FORM PRESCRIBED BY THE
INSURANCE COMMISSIONER, WHICH ADVISES THAT CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS
MAY BE ENTITLED TO CONTINUATION OF GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE
BENEFITS UNDER ARTICLE 48A, § 490G OF THE CODE.

(D) HEALTH MAINTENANCE ORGANIZATIONS SHALL PROVIDE
CONTINUATION COVERAGE REQUIRED UNDER ARTICLE 48A, § 490G OF THE
CODE.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
apply to group contracts issued or renewed after the effective
date of this Act.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986.
