qualified sufficiently by advanced training to supervise the same
kind of services in a hospital.
AN ACT concerning
Health Care - Comprehensive Physical Rehabilitation
Facilities
FOR the purpose of creating a comprehensive physical
rehabilitation facilities program in the Department of
Health and Mental Hygiene; defining the classifications of
certain hospitals; requiring certain hospitals to be
classified as special rehabilitation hospitals under certain
circumstances; requiring hospitals or related institutions
to be accredited or meet certain requirements in order to
qualify for certain licenses; prohibiting home health
agencies from holding themselves out as providing a complete
array of physical rehabilitation services unless the home
health agency complies with certain requirements; defining
certain terms; requiring a comprehensive rehabilitation
facility to meet certain requirements before the facility
may provide certain services or programs; providing a
procedure for the issuance and renewal of the comprehensive
rehabilitation licenses; permitting comprehensive
rehabilitation facilities to provide certain rehabilitation
programs; requiring comprehensive rehabilitation facilities
to authorize the release of certain information and meet
certain standards; permitting the Secretary to waive the
accreditation requirement for comprehensive rehabilitation
facilities for a specified period of time; permitting the
Secretary to inspect comprehensive rehabilitation facilities
to assure compliance with certain requirements; prohibiting
health care facilities from holding themselves out as a
person from holding himself out as providing, or actually
providing, certain services unless the facility complies
with certain requirements; restricting certain health care
facilities to offering only those physical rehabilitation
services, appropriate and necessary to the care, treatment,
or support of the acute, chronic disease, or long-term care
patient; providing certain penalties; and generally relating
to health care facilities.
