(2) EACH ORGANIZATION SHALL DESIGNATE AN INDIVIDUAL
WHO SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLYING WITH THE TERMS AND
CONDITIONS OF THIS SECTION AND THE PERMIT.

(3) A PERSON MAY NOT BE COMPENSATED FOR THE
MANAGEMENT OR OPERATION OF ANY GAMING ACTIVITY AUTHORIZED UNDER
THE PERMIT.

(J) AN ORGANIZATION WHICH IS ISSUED A PERMIT UNDER THIS
SECTION SHALL WITHIN 30 DAYS AFTER EACH FUND-RAISER SEND TO THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF WORCESTER COUNTY:

(1) AN ACCOUNTING OF ALL FUNDS RECEIVED OR PLEDGED;

(2) AN ACCOUNTING OF ALL EXPENSES PAID OR INCURRED:
AND

(3) A STATEMENT UNDER OATH OF THE APPLICATION OF THE
NET PROFITS.

(K) THIS SECTION MAY NOT BE CONSTRUED TO AUTHORIZE THE USE
OF SLOT MACHINES, OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF COIN MACHINE. FOR GAMBLING
PURPOSES.

(L) A PERSON OR ORGANIZATION THAT VIOLATES ANY PROVISION OF
THIS SECTION IS GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND ON CONVICTION IS
SUBJECT TO A FINE NOT EXCEEDING $1,000 OR IMPRISONMENT NOT
EXCEEDING 1 YEAR, OR BOTH.

256.

(a) Notwithstanding any other provisions of this subtitle,
the Sheriff of Wicomico County [shall be] IS authorized to issue
licenses to conduct games [of bingo, raffles, bazaars, and
carnivals,] at which it shall be lawful to award prizes in cash
or merchandise by such devices as are commonly designated as
paddle wheels, wheels of fortune, chance books, bingo, RAFFLES or
any other gaming device.

Organizations eligible for licenses as [aforesaid] PROVIDED
IN THIS SECTION are listed as follows:

(1)  A tax-supported volunteer fire company or
auxiliary unit of which the members thereof are directly
associated with such fire company. [Tax-supported volunteer fire
companies shall be eligible for all types of licenses hereunder,
including specifically a carnival license, at which only one
wheel for cash prizes is authorized.]

(2)  A nationally chartered veterans' organization or
auxiliary unit of which the members thereof are directly
associated with such organization.

(3)  A bona fide religious group which has conducted
religious services at a fixed location in Wicomico County for a
