TAKING INTO ACCOUNT ANY DETERIORATION OF THE BEACH WHICH COULD
REASONABLY BE EXPECTED TO OCCUR AFTER THE DATE OF VALUATION,
GIVEN NO ARTIFICIAL IMPROVEMENT OR PROTECTION OF THE BEACH AT
PUBLIC EXPENSE. SUCH COSTS SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO,
INSURANCE COSTS AND SPECIAL CONSTRUCTION COSTS ATTRIBUTABLE TO
THE NEED TO PROTECT AGAINST STORM DAMAGE.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1986.

(House Bill 27)

AN ACT concerning

Acid Deposition - Evaluation, Research, and Monitoring

FOR the purpose of requiring the director of the Power Plant
Siting Program of the Department of Natural Resources to
direct and coordinate the activities required under the Acid
Deposition Subtitle created by this Act; requiring, to the
extent funds are provided in the State budget, the
Departments of Health and Mental Hygiene and Natural
Resources, in cooperation with certain agencies, to conduct
a comprehensive evaluation of the sources, impact on the
State, certain methods to alleviate a certain impact, and
the costs of certain methods to alleviate a certain impact;
requiring the Departments of Health and Mental Hygiene and
Natural Resources to consult with and involve certain
interested parties in the comprehensive evaluation of acid
deposition in the State; requiring certain interested
parties to participate in certain activities; requiring the
Departments of Health and Mental Hygiene and Natural
Resources to design and operate a comprehensive research and
monitoring program to accomplish certain objectives;
providing that, by a certain date, and annually thereafter,
the Departments of Health and Mental Hygiene and Natural
Resources, with the advice of certain agencies and
interested parties, shall prepare and submit a report to the
Governor and to the General Assembly; setting forth certain
requirements for the contents of . the report; defining
certain terms; and generally relating to acid deposition.

BY adding to

Article - Natural Resources

Section 3-3A-01 through 3-3A-04, inclusive, to be under the
new subtitle "Subtitle 3A. Acid Deposition"
