AN ACT concerning

Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission -

Minority Business Contracts

FOR the purpose of authorizing the Washington Suburban Sanitary

Commission to recognize certification programs of minority
business enterprises by agencies other than the Department

of Transportation of the State or a county under certain
circumstances.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF

MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 29 - Washington Suburban Sanitary District

3-102.

(d) (1) In this subsection "minority business enterprise"
means a minority business enterprise as defined in Article 21,
Section 8-601 of the Code.

(2) By resolution and by implementing rules and
regulations, the WSSC shall establish a mandatory minority
business utilization program to facilitate the participation of
responsible certified minority business enterprises in contracts
awarded by the WSSC in accordance with competitive bidding
procedures.
