AN ACT concerning

Restricted Gill Nets - Maximum Size Length

FOR the purpose of altering the maximum size of net that may be

used under a restricted gill net license.

FOR the purpose of authorizing the use of restricted gill nets in

all tidal waters of the State; making corrections; and
increasing the maximum length of net that may be used under
a restricted gill net license in certain areas.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF

MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

4-701.

(d) (1) The following annual license fees shall apply:

(iii) To catch finfish for personal consumption
with a restricted gill net pursuant to § 4-709................$25

4-709.

A person may be licensed to utilize a restricted gill net
for noncommercial fishing in the tidal waters of the Chesapeake
Bay and its tributaries THE STATE, upon application and payment
of a fee. The licensee may fish a single staked gill net, not to
exceed [50 yards] 100 YARDS in length 50 YARDS IN LENGTH IN THE

CHESAPEAKE BAY AND ITS TIDAL TRIBUTARIES AND 100 YARDS IN LENGTH
IN THE TIDAL WATERS OF WORCESTER COUNTY THAT ARE NOT TRIBUTARIES

OF THE CHESAPEAKE BAY and not to be used for commercial purposes.
The use of nets fished under the provisions of this section is
subject to every law and every rule or regulation governing net
